Wedding Flower Alternatives to Fit Your Budget

As I mentioned elsewhere in this blog, we didn't have flowers at our wedding. My son was two at the time. As any mom of a tot will tell you, that doesn't leave time to plan anything, much less shop for the perfect, pocketbook-friendly flower arrangements.

Plus, wedding flower arrangements are hugely expensive! The costs averages $385 PER centerpiece, as per the Wedding Report.

So, we didn't have flowers. We had painted centerpieces created by my buddy, Laura of Laurasglassart.com.

However, if floral is your thang, then check these frugal flower alternatives to keep costs down at your wedding.

One small vase of a few blooms on each table – for an earthy, classic kind of elegance.

Instead of centerpieces on every table - how about just one for the head table, or the sweetheart table if that's what you're planning to have?

A mason jar centerpiece with just a couple of in-season flowers (very vintage!)

Flowers in tin cans – homespun wedding cuteness

Instead of huge, elaborate centerpieces – how about a floral spray? (still too much, in my estimation – but that's me, you might think otherwise. Also, wth is a "spray?" I'm so NOT fancy. But anywho...)

A bowl of water with a few flower blossoms floating in it, as a centerpiece.

Candle centerpiece, with a few flower buds scattered around it
