Wedding Flower Alternatives to Fit Your Budget

As I mentioned elsewhere in this blog, we didn't have flowers at our wedding. My son was two at the time. As any mom of a tot will tell you, that doesn't leave time to plan anything, much less shop for the perfect, pocketbook-friendly flower arrangements.

Plus, wedding flower arrangements are hugely expensive! The costs averages $385 PER centerpiece, as per the Wedding Report.

So, we didn't have flowers. We had painted centerpieces created by my buddy, Laura of Laurasglassart.com.

However, if floral is your thang, then check these frugal flower alternatives to keep costs down at your wedding.

One small vase of a few blooms on each table – for an earthy, classic kind of elegance.

Instead of centerpieces on every table - how about just one for the head table, or the sweetheart table if that's what you're planning to have?

A mason jar centerpiece with just a couple of in-season flowers (very vintage!)

Flowers in tin cans – homespun wedding cuteness

Instead of huge, elaborate centerpieces – how about a floral spray? (still too much, in my estimation – but that's me, you might think otherwise. Also, wth is a "spray?" I'm so NOT fancy. But anywho...)

A bowl of water with a few flower blossoms floating in it, as a centerpiece.

Candle centerpiece, with a few flower buds scattered around it

Sweet Deal on Wedding Photography, Videography and Limo Combined

Hey there, frugal NJ brides! I was just perusing the Celebrations Advertiser when I spotted a great deal on wedding videography, photography and limo services all bundled together into one package.

"Excellent Photo Video" lets you customize your wedding package online. The offer includes 4 hours of wedding photography, 4 hours of video footage, and 2 hours of limo service in a Rolls Royce.

I checked out the various photos on their site and they look like they're talented at what they do. For instance... check out this "cherry blossom love" photo to the right. Pretty gorgeous, no?

In addition to weddings, they also provide the above mentioned services for fashion, corporate and commercial events. They list "maternity" and "family as bullet points but I'm not sure what that means exactly. I guess you could throw a real humdinger of a baby shower and then ride off into the sunset in your white rolls royce... now that's some kinda baby carriage!

Also, I noticed quite a few typos on their site, leading me to believe that perhaps English is a second language. Not sure about that, but got a chuckle over this line:

"This is great for unforgetten moments."

Anyway, check them out at http://excellentphotovideo.com or call 973 837 0050 or 732 208 1176.

Tell them you saw them being talked about in the "NJ Wedding on a Budget" blog!
